The terms of using CardVault.

The service

CardVault is a tool for keeping track of a household’s Pokémon card collection: scanning, sets, wish lists, binders, deck lists, themed sets, trade lists and estimated values. It is offered by truck8.ai, Pater Beckerstraat 21, 4731 AK Oudenbosch, the Netherlands (KvK 97413402, VAT NL005269270B40), reachable at hello@truck8ai.com. These terms apply between that publisher and the account holder.

The account holder

An account is held by an adult, who is responsible for how the household uses the app, for keeping the password to themselves, and for the email address on the account being correct and reachable. One account serves one household, and access to it may not be resold or shared outside it.

Collector profiles

The profiles inside an account are not accounts. They carry a first name and an emoji, they cannot sign in on their own, they cannot be contacted, and they are invisible from outside the household. The account holder creates, renames and removes them and decides who in the family uses the device.

Free and Family Plus

Everything a collector needs is free and stays free. Family Plus is a subscription that adds more collector profiles, AI help without a daily limit when a scan is unsure, themed sets from a typed sentence, the deck builder and the portfolio view. It is bought by the month or by the year at the price shown at the moment of purchase, including VAT. A monthly subscription renews month by month until it is cancelled. A yearly subscription bought on the web is paid once for a year and ends after that year unless the account holder renews it; a subscription bought in the Google Play Store renews under Google’s rules and is cancelled there.

Cancelling

A subscription can be cancelled at any time: from the plan page in the app when it was bought on the web, or in the Google Play Store when it was bought there. It then runs to the end of the period already paid for and stops. Nothing is taken away when it ends — every card, set, wish list and binder stays exactly where it is. A family with more than the four collectors of the free plan keeps them all; it just cannot add another until one of them is removed.

The offline pack

The offline pack is a single purchase and is not part of the subscription. It puts card recognition on the device so that scanning works without a connection. It belongs to the account, it does not renew, and it is not charged again.

The right of withdrawal

As a consumer in the EU you have fourteen days to withdraw from a distance purchase without giving a reason. Digital content delivered at once is the exception: buying the offline pack asks you to agree that delivery starts immediately and to acknowledge that the right of withdrawal ends with that delivery. A Family Plus subscription is refunded in full if you write within fourteen days of the first payment. The refunds page carries the model withdrawal form; using it is not required.

Refunds

The refund policy has its own page and is part of these terms. A purchase made in the Google Play Store follows Google’s own refund process; if Google turns you away and you believe it should not have, write to us and we look at it ourselves.

Using it fairly

Use the app for your own household’s collection. Do not scrape the catalogue or the price data, do not automate requests, do not try to reach another account’s data, do not resell what the app shows you, and do not upload anything unlawful. An account doing these things can be suspended, after a warning wherever a warning is possible.

What a family shares through a share link is that family’s content. Anyone who believes a shared page contains something unlawful can write to hello@truck8ai.com; it is looked at promptly, taken down when the report is right, and the sharer is told what was removed and why.

Prices and values

The prices in the app are third-party estimates: the Cardmarket trend price and the TCGplayer market price, published through TCGdex and refreshed nightly. They are not offers, not valuations and not advice, and neither the publisher nor the sources guarantee that they are right. What a card actually sells for is a matter between the people trading it.

Card data and pictures

Pokémon, the card names and all card artwork are © Nintendo / Creatures Inc. / GAME FREAK / The Pokémon Company. CardVault is an independent tool, not affiliated with or endorsed by them, and shows this material so that a family can identify the cards it owns. Card and set data come from TCGdex and PokéAPI under their terms; the attribution page names every source.

Availability

The service is provided as it is, with the care of a one-person operation. It can be down for maintenance, a scan can be wrong, a price can be stale and a feature can change. No level of availability is promised. The backup that Settings → Your data writes for free at any time is the copy a family can always fall back on.

Liability

Nothing here limits liability for intent, gross negligence, injury to life or health, or anything else the law does not allow to be limited, and your rights as a consumer under Dutch and EU law remain untouched. Beyond that, liability is limited to what was paid for the service in the twelve months before the event, and there is no liability for lost data beyond restoring what the existing backups hold.

Changes, and the law that applies

Material changes to these terms are announced to the account holder by email at least thirty days before they take effect; using the account after that means accepting them, and cancelling is always the alternative. Dutch law applies. Disputes go to the Dutch courts; as a consumer you may also turn to the courts of the country you live in, and its mandatory consumer law stays untouched. The English text is binding; the translations are for convenience.
